Francesca is a director and award-winning writer, co-founder of production company Strange Machine.
Having trained in performing arts at Goldsmiths, she began working in feature film production and distribution at companies such as Universal, New Regency, See-Saw and Porchlight Films.
Her short film script ‘Faded’ won a Live Script Reading Award at the Channel 4-supported British Urban Film Festival in 2015. Her first feature film screenplay ‘Uuno’ as co-writer was awarded funding by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
She has since directed ‘Lynch’, a short film about social paranoia commissioned by ad agency DLV BBDO and written and directed ‘Undone’, a short which screened at Aesthetica Short Film Festival and Pan African Film Festival amongst others, and at leading international LGBTQ festivals, such as Inside Out and NewFest.
Francesca was recently mentored by director Gina Prince-Bythewood on Netflix’s upcoming film ‘The Old Guard’, starring Charlize Theron and Kiki Layne. She is a member of BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew and an alumna of Encounters Film Festival's Widening the Lens Shorts 2 Features scheme.
